To say Rioja Premium might seem redundant because in La Rioja / Rioja Alavesa everything is premium: the landscape, the villages, the monuments, the food, and, of course, the wines. We've made a selection of top resources for you to discover the wine secrets of this territory. Be advised - the day will be long. Our first stop will be in Rioja Alavesa, a Basque territory in the province of Álava located between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro River, the most voluminous and the second longest river in Spain.

Wine Kingdom Part I

First, we’ll visit a family own winery, where we’ll taste a selection of their best wines, from the most classic to the most young and edgy, aligned with the latest and most revolutionary trends. Touring the facilities, learning about artisanal methods, and about the labeling and classification system of wines in Spain - the sleeping giant of the wine world. Everything here is exquisite and intimate.

Wine Kingdom Part II: Marqués de Murrieta

We head to Logroño to visit the Marqués de Murrieta winery. Due to its size and importance, we could say we're visiting the Vatican of wineries. Marqués de Murrieta was awarded the Best Of for the best winery in the world in 2023. What will we find there? A large winery complex where tradition and modernity go hand in hand, new and old architecture, a 'know-how' that wineries worldwide look up to, and ultimately, the perfect balance between history and innovation. And of course, its wines, its excellent wines, designed based on centuries of experience and unique bravery. If the wines you taste here surprise you, you'll know why.

The highlight of the visit will be an haute cuisine menu with 6 - 7 courses, an extensive selection of dishes, and an optimal pairing created by the winery itself with some of its 'great successes': Pazo Barrantes, Capellanía, Marqués de Murrieta, and Castillo Ygay.
