Ania

Guide

Ania is originally from Poland, but the Basque Country has been her home for many years. Ever since she was a little girl, she dreamed of being Indiana Jones. Her first great passions were travel and adventure. As a child, her mother would make her a sandwich, and she would head off to explore nearby forests and villages. Later, she’d pack her own sandwich and venture even farther. It’s no surprise she chose a career in tourism, specializing in active travel.

She has explored much of the world—on foot, by bike, bus, train, and plane—with a constant drive to meet people, learn about different cultures, and experience the world firsthand. She has lived in the United States, Guatemala, Brazil, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Incredibly curious and full of energy, she always wants to find out what’s behind the next mountain.

Ania holds a degree in Environmental Engineering, as well as a bachelor's and a master’s degree in Tourism. She has over ten years of experience in the travel, food and wine industry. She loves cooking and eating, enjoys camping, though she certainly doesn’t mind staying in a “nice” hotel now and then.

She speaks Polish, Spanish, and English, and has a deep appreciation for history, nature, and the little details that turn a trip into a meaningful experience.

Ania is the satellite of Ikusnahi, the one that allows us to see our land with perspective and to discover details that are not perceptible when we are born in it.
