Rioja in White (and Red): A Fresh Take on the Region’s Best Wines
Rioja’s Whites—With a Red Option Too! This tour is for white wine lovers, from fresh and vibrant to barrel-aged and complex expressions. But if you’re traveling with a red wine fan, no worries—each winery also offers fantastic reds, and we’ll tailor the experience so everyone finds their perfect sip. Crisp whites, bold reds, and unforgettable pairings—Rioja, your way!
P.S. For those who want to focus only on whites or reds—no problem! This tour is tailored to your preferences so you can enjoy Rioja your way.
Gómez Cruzado
We kick things off in Haro’s Barrio de la Estación at Gómez Cruzado, a boutique winery that blends tradition with a modern twist. Their whites are fresh, vibrant, and full of personality, showcasing the elegance of native varieties like Viura, while their reds, such as Pancrudo, stand out for their fruity character and perfect balance of freshness and structure
Remírez de Ganuza
Next up is Remírez de Ganuza in Samaniego, where precision meets perfection. Known for their meticulous winemaking process, their whites are all about balance and complexity, just like their reds, which are crafted from carefully selected grapes to create wines with depth, structure, and exceptional aging potential.
Amaren
We’ll end the day at Amaren, a family-run gem in Villabuena de Álava. Their whites are bold, expressive, and deeply rooted in tradition, while their reds, made from old-vine Tempranillo and Garnacha, capture the purest essence of Rioja’s terroir.
Lunch at Palacio Samaniego
After all that wine, it’s time to feast! We’ll head to the beautifully restored 17th-century Palacio Samaniego for a gourmet lunch perfectly paired with—you guessed it—more wines. This elegant setting blends French-inspired sophistication with local charm, offering the ideal atmosphere to relax and enjoy.
The menu celebrates the best of Rioja’s fresh, local ingredients, elevated with a touch of French culinary flair. It’s a meal designed to delight, in a setting that makes it unforgettable.
