Luis
Guide
My name is Luis. I grew up in Donostia, and I feel really lucky to call this place home. Growing up between the sea and the mountains has shaped who I am and naturally led me towards a life outdoors. Whenever I can, I’m surfing, cycling, or heading into the mountains.
I learned how to ride a bike when I was four, and I’ve never really stopped since. It’s quite common to see me getting around Donostia on my old pink bike, which has become part of my everyday life and, in a way, part of who I am.
Some of my favourite plans are close to home. Monte Ulia feels like my backyard, with its network of paths, cliffs above the sea, and that sense of being out in nature without going far. I also love heading up to Urgull at sunset, sharing a cold beer with friends while watching the light change over the city.
One moment that stands out every year is the San Juan night in Sagües. Climbing the pole, the bonfires, the music, and the energy of the romería make it something special. It’s one of those nights that captures what living here is all about.
