WHAT TO EXPECT
We will pick you up at your hotel and head to the most renowned wine store in San Sebastian. On the way, your guide will give you an introduction on the history of the area, and what to expect throughout the experience.
With 2.9 million acres planted and over 400 grape varieties Spain has become the third largest producer of wine in the world! The most recognized regions are: our neighbour La Rioja, Catalan Priorat. Both of them have a consistent track record for quality. Other regions like Ribera del Duero, Ribeira Sacra, Montsant have also great quality wines. There are many ‘bodegas’ with excellent products and their scores are very often over 90 points.
During the tasting with a local expert you will broaden your knowledge about Spanish wines. Learn about the most interesting native varieties, climate, terroirs and wine making methods. We will also dive into the history of wine in Spain and the cultural importance of this drink in present times.
