The Route of Flavors.
Ikusnahi offers to take you on a private tour to discover the culinary secrets of the French Basque country, in a full day dedicated to the best cuisine. In the morning depart towards the French Basque Country. From Hendaia take the winding coast road -the Corniche- to the small town of San Juan de luz, where we’ll visit its interesting market.
Visit one of the best cheese producers, which serves Michelin star restaurants in the area and taste a wide variety of these exceptional products.
Then we will head for Bayonne to visit a producer of the famous ham in this town and enjoy a guided tour and a tasting of some of their products.
We will make our way to a chocolate shop where we will have a brief tasting session before continuing to Espelette, where we enjoy a traditional meal in a authentic Basque restaurant. Espelette is known for its production of red peppers and we will be able to enjoy an assortment of local specialities.
On our return we will pass through the beautiful villages of Ainhoa and Sara to reach the town of Hondarribia, certainly one of the most beautiful villages of the cantabrian coast, a unique space where the ocean, the mountains and the river come together in a fabulous bay.
The walled city has preserved its natural and historical heritage and architecture well accompanied by one of the best cuisines in the area.
After a short walk through this beautiful town back to Donostia / San Sebastian.
